Pre-requisites

Get ready for coworking streams!

Pre-requisites (Computer)

Pre-requisites for starting coworking streams on your desktop computer or laptop.

Software

  • OBS : Free and open source software for video recording and live streaming.

Hardware

  • Internet Capacity (bitrate)
    • There are some online calculators you can use to determine the ideal bitrate based off your computer specs and preferred output (screen resolution, frames per second).
    • Check out this in depth guide from Reddit to learn more!
  • RAM
    • The more RAM a computer has, the better it is at multitasking.
    • Minimum 8GB, 16GB or more is recommended.
  • CPU
    • The better the CPU, the faster the computer can process data and instructions.
    • clock speed of 3.0 GHz or higher, such as an Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5.
  • GPU
    • The better the GPU, the better the image quality and the higher the frame rate.
    • A dedicated GPU is not required for streaming, but it is recommended for a better viewing experience.
    • A dedicated graphics card with at least 4GB of VRAM, such as an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 or AMD Radeon RX 560.

Pre-requisites (Mobile)

Usually, streamers who stream from their phone would use their laptop device to interact with chat!

Hardware

  • Camera
    • Having a camera pointed towards your direction is effective for accountability!

Software

  • Twitch / YouTube app
    • Depending on which platform you intend to stream on.
